Well i'm officially becoming asian. i've been craving noodles for breakfast and i've officially been indoctrinated into asian culture by singing 5 hours of karaoke on Friday night. me and four other friends from work headed over to the KTV in Ang Mo Kio. i had no idea what i was in for. bascially, its this huge place with about 30 rooms. you reserve a room ahead of time. each person pays about USD20 which includes karaoke and 2 drinks. each room has an L-shaped couch, a table, and a TV with a special remote control. you can pick your own song from all different languages and there is every song you can think of. so you have your own room with your friends. there are a few microphones so everyone can sing along. well of course i sang TWO lady gaga songs, party in the USA, and so many more. the others kept saying wow you must do karaoke at home you're a good singer! when in reality i NEVER do karaoke at home and i avoid it like the plague actually. the others were singing these slow love songs in chinese i think. all the chinese songs were slow ballads. like the 80's rock ballads. it was so stereotypical asian. i loved it!! i couldnt believe when we left we had been in there for 5 hours!!!! actually in the pictures i'm looking a little rough but it was a long day at work and my hair was completely crazy.

speaking of crazy hair, on saturday i got my hair cut. i think it had been at least 6 months. my bangs weren't even bangs anymore. i made an appointment and when i got there my hair was still really crazy and curly from the day before and when i took it out of the bun the look on the hairdressers face was priceless. she washed my hair for like 20 minutes and kept muttering under her breath. it took her another 20 minutes just to comb it. but, she did an awesome job with the haircut. i got maybe 4 inches cut off and some layers and my bangs look great. it's still plenty long but now more manageable especially in this heat.
i did some pool swimming this weekend and it was the best swim i had in awhile. i felt like a seal just zipping through the water. my stroke is really good i just need to work on my ocean phobia and i'll be set for the next triathlon. also on sunday i ran for the first time in at least 6 weeks. i ran on the treadmill at the gym (more bounce) as a tester for my knee. it felt really good. no pain, i can still feel a little soreness but no pain. so i think i'll start running once per week for about 30 minutes and work my way up to longer distances. i'm hoping the knee injury is over with. what's NOT over with is this darn eye infection. i still can't wear my contacts and i think i may have developed some kind of worse infection because today my face was hurting. so i made an appointment with an eye specialist tomorrow morning and i really hope he can help me. the eye drops just made me sick and i don't think they worked. so we'll see how it goes.
sunday i spent forever writing my annual christmas letter and addressing all the envelopes and getting pictures printed. BUT i got it all done and in the mail on Monday. whew. it was a good feeling putting that big stack of letters in the mailbox. bon voyage!
so remember a few weeks ago i was talking about this woman in my spinning class with this really amazing body but i had a better butt? well upon closer inspection in the locker room i'm 110% positive that she is actually a man. well that explains the lack of butt. she's had some great work done though. she was wearing little booty shorts and just a sports bra and i was standing right next to her so i could tell she was post-op and had some great implants. the ONLY thing that gave it away was her voice. in fact i dont think i would have known except she got a call on her cell phone and when she answered i was like holy shit. hahaha anyways, her body is still amazing.
so things at work are going well. i'm putting together the next report while my boss is out of the office until thursday. i'm nearly done with it today so that leaves me all of tomorrow to go to the doctor and then finish the report so it's looking good for when she gets back. i went down to the lab yesterday to discuss some inconsistent lab results. thier facility is just amazing. they all have matching lab coats and all look very professional. i discussed with them the results and we pulled the samples, looked at them, and i assigned some additional testing. tehy were very courteous and professional and organized. i love this lab! thomas works in the lab and he gave me this little merlion key chain hahah its cute i put my apartment keys on it.
vendors have been sending cards and food for holiday presents and today singtel (a phone company) sent this big box of little cakes and pastries and had about 17 of them. so i'm considering that dinner. i'm a sucker for baked goods. its definitely a weakness.
so on saturday i moved into rene's room. he left for offshore for about 6 weeks. things are looking up in the apartment. its really nice to have my own space. i organized all my clothes and things nicely and i have my own bathroom which is a huge plus. the bed is also a new bed so i slept so great.
ok im really trying to be home before 930 so i have to finish this up. i'm trying to think of anything else i want to write. i talked to matt, j2, and brian on skype on saturday. they seemed like they were having such a good time at the house getting ready to go out. i talked to my brother too on skype. he was telling me about this guy who dressed up like santa and tried to abduct a little girl but didn't succeed. i was like wow that's pretty smart these criminals just keep getting more creative. ok i think that's all my random thoughts for today.

I'm LOVING the karaoke place! I've heard of those before, but never actually seen one. 80's ballad songs in Chinese...priceless! Oh, and you as a Seal zipping through the water is the quote of the day. Good post! It was good to see you on Skype...on saturday and at 5:00am the other morning:)
