Two Fridays ago i went to karaoke again with LMS, moe, and judith. Judy is SUCH a great singer. I think she thought i was kind of crazy. this place was a lot nicer than the KTV we went to last time. it was nice but it didn't have alot of the newer songs, not even any of the new lady gaga songs. what a bummer. and no miley cyrus. boo.
On Sunday my co-worker Maureen invited me on her boat to go out to one of the islands. I was really really excited to go out, i was hoping for nice weather and i knew it was going to be a great day. i went to my spinning class in the morning then made my way over to vivo city and the st. james power station (which looks a lot dfferent during the day by the way hahaha). maureen picks me up and we head into sentosa. i'm thinking we're going to the boat docks or somethign like at the ventura harbor. actually we're going to a beautiful marina yacht club. there's only about 100 slips all with huge beautiful yachts, and a very posh marina club. maureen's 'boat' is actually basically a yacht. we met sven, his wife and his two adorable daughters, LMS, maureen's husband, daughter and her boyfriend and friend. so there was about 12 of us with plenty of room. there's an upper desk with two huge captains chairs a main level and also an inside cabin. this is the life of luxury! we headed out towards the airport, scooting inbetween the huge container ships. the weather is so perfect today. after awhile of course i feel seasick so we start heading towards one of the little islands off the coast of singapore. we pull up to the island and there's about 7 or 8 other yachts all parked in this little cove. a perfect man-made beach cove of course. everyone is lounging on the yachts or on the beach or playing in the water. two big speedboats full of 20-something western rich kids pulled up for awhile, accompanied by a gang of jet skiers. like the fast of the furoius movie but with water. we spent the day there, just enjoying the beach and the water. i brought a big box of mandarin oranges which were a big hit. couldn't thank maureen enough for a wonderful day!
